A good weekend

Stevie after work went to a hot rod show and now wants a 1930's Ford instead of his mustang. He had a really busy week again clearing over $2000 which meant he got $900. Getting $900 a week is crazy! Thats like £400+ and its been the second week in a row he's gotten that! It will be crazy when he starts getting 50-50. I can't believe how much more he's getting from the UK, he's starting to get so many people coming in and asking for him personally and he's had quite a few people who got something come back and get more. He's got a guy getting a sleeve in two sundays who he had done a rose on a month ago.
Stevie was looking up dresses for my tattoo tonight and he found a dress for me! I'm thinking of getting it, its very similar to my wedding dress so I have all the things that would match with it!
We got indian food for dinner tonight, and they forgot one of our starters so we phoned up, and 10 mins later they gave us $10 back, despite the starter only costing $3.50 and then gave us samosa, pakora and bhajiis for free! I made stevie phone up and thank them for the extra's and their good customer service. Stevie is happy as he has found an indian takeaway as good as the starters in kinross and the naan in edinburgh.
Its been raining really heavy this afternoon and tonight, hopefully some of it has made it to the damns. A davinci code advert has just come on and stevie is going crazy about it!

Tommorow is another public holiday, three mondays in a row!

Sleeve Idea's

I've decided what I want for my other sleeve, it will be based on my favourite artist the art deco French fashion illustrator George Barbier . In glasgow I had a whole series of Barbier fashion prints on my door but unfortunatly they didnt make the move to Edinburgh really well. I've gone on ebay and amazon to see if I can find a book of prints and postcards again. Because I've got my anchor on the back of my arm I wan't something nautical again. I've found a few paintings/prints of a girl on the beach with an umbrella and some nice waves. I also like Alphonse Mucha the art nouveau artist but I think the art deco look will look better as my japanese sleeve has an art deco feel to it, itself. This is the sort of idea that I want.

Happy Birthday Mr Kitty

Desa is offically one today! Happy Birthday our little man!

Bake Bake Bake Away

As I'm not the most creative person artistically, the only thing I seem to well is cook. As I am waiting till my birthday for my sewing machine :) and I dont have enough time as yet to do my furniture restoration course, I am setting a goal to bake something every week. Other than that my next goal is starting to go to more garage sales and deceased estates and start getting more furniture and less dresses! This week I am only bidding on one dress a beautiful 1940's style black wool dress with braclet sleeves and a small pleated low skirt. Quite flapperish but very fitted. I have a few vintage jewellery buys that I have my eye on, including a marcasite brooch watch that stevie said he'd get for me. If I win any of them, I'll post some pictures later in the week.
I have my appoitments to see my specialists in the next coming weeks, I have my bone scan next wednsday and on the 17th of may I've got my new bone clinic appoitment with a specialist. To wait pretty much only 3 weeks for an appoitment in public health is pretty good! I'm impressed!
I have had a pretty relaxed morning staying in my jimjams till 1pm, I'm going to go into the city in another hour to meet stevie and to get some ingredients for what I'm going to bake tonight. For dinner I'll make steak and charred grilled vegie fajita's, a mexican salad and mexican rice. Nothing too exciting there. But for dessert I think I'll either make chocolate mud cake or strawberry tart with choux flan pastry. Tommorow is going to be my cleaning day, doing the mountains of washing from Pottsville and doing a few job applications for the public service arena. I am waiting another month until I get my free glasses. Im going to get some new prada's very similar to my old ones but they are tiger print, they look dark but you notice the stripes under certain lights, they are a combination of yellow, black and brown. I'm also getting a thick pair of versace's which are heavier than Ive worn of late, grey black with black stripes and diamontees on the sides. I want a pair of olive green blvugari's which have a pink stripe on the edges and pink stones on the temples, they aren't part of the luxiottica range so I can't get them for free, but I'm going to get stevie to have a look at them on wednsday and if he likes them I'll put them on layby.
I'm going into town to do the grocery shopping instead of across the road as I'm really wanting a mango madness fruit sorbet smoothie from boost juice and some pistachio gelati from gelamatiso!I'll meet stevie after when he finishes work at 4pm.
I can't believe we have only been here three months! It seems like so much longer.
Its mothers day next week her in Australia, we'll keep mothers day at the same time in scotland for judy but we got Mum some nice presents. She is always going on about how much she likes my Chanel Chance perfume, so we got her a pack of that with free moistureiser. We also got her an aqua laced singlet/tank top and lil sequinned overshirt/kaftany like top. We also got her a nice embroided tissue holder for her purse, a large amber spotted blown glass vase (which looks like desa) and two candles. The funny thing is her bedroom for the last year has been all african like, and just yesterday she picked me up from work (as her and dad have gone down to pottsville for 2 days) and said how she had bought a new Japanese like bedspread setting! Target, a dept store over here has gone all oriental and they have lovely silk japanese and chinese bed themes at the momment (http:www.target.com.au ):Great!
I was going to bring the vase back but then decided that It would match nicely with her non formal longue room where she has a lovely brown/cream and blue scheme.I'm going to take mum to lunch as stevie is working during the day (its a sunday) and will make her creme caramel which she loves.

I'll post some pics later!

Pottsville

Well we're back from Pottsville and had two days at work, and then now I have three days off and Stevie has Labour day Monday off, Tuesday and Wednsday off. Holiday!
Pottsville was really lovely, we pretty much ate, swam, watched good dvds and relaxed.
The first night we got there it was quite coolish and we tucked in and watched some good tell. The next day was Anzac day, I woke up at 6.30 am to go to the toilet and there was about 150 people marching with bagpipes and there I was in my hello kitty purple leopard print jammies. Stevie had his first attempt at cooking a bbq, bacon and turkish bread and unfortunatly put the bacon on the grill part which sparked huge flames and a semi fire! Not a good start, to say atleast the bacon was charred was an understatement. We then went for a walk along the river and the beach, the surf was huge that day and stevie perched himself at the end of the rocks with the water going all over him. We got some fish and chips for lunch. That afternoon we watched some good dvd's My cousin Vinny and then made dinner, another bbq but this time it worked out well. We had steak, onions, potatoes and prawns. We got some chocolate mud cake and bannana pecan cake from the local shop and pigged out.
The next morning we had bacon and potato and onions for breakfast, and made a gourmet dinner of roasted marinated vegies on the bbq, prawns, red wine and garlic hamburgers. We had some lovely naps, a great dip in the river, we went at lunchtime on the last day when it was low tide and I bought the large tyre out to float in, stevie went swimming instead. The tide and currents of the water was so fast that I was swept from the mouth of the river right down to the beach, stevie had to hold my legs whilst I was sitting on the bank of the river. Overall it was such a lovely break that we wanted to stay for longer!
