Here are some quick photos of my new hair, its a lil fuzzy as I just stepped out of the shower (but didnt wet my hair), I wore it a lil clipped back today on the side with a bobby pin hidden. Its longer at the front then it is at the back. Its quite short at the back! Here also are my new shoes, Im becoming a desa morphin, with my hello kitty purple leopard print jammies and now the shoes!
No wonder he likes attacking me, he thinks I'm one of him!
I'll take better photos tommorow when I'm semi glammed up for a party.

Bribie Island

Today I went to Bribie Island with mum and Aunty Di after going to the dawn markets. We had some lunch by the beach and went and looked at the Endevour Home which I will win. Its at Bribie Island near a small marina and was lovely inside with a beautiful pool and outdoor area, such beautiful colours inside, all lime greens, pinks and chocolate browns. Its got 4 bedrooms enough for when you all come and visit! :) I entered in twice so hopefully that means I'll definatly win!
It was nipper day at the beach, which is the young kids who do surf lifesaving, hence why the red and yellow flags were out, in Australia most big beaches are patrolled by surf lifesavers and you need to swin between the red and yellow flags to get saved! Its such lovely weather at the momment, bright sunshine and about 26 degrees every day, not hot enough to sweat when your out walking about, I wish it stayed like this always.
I stopped in to some caravan parks, the Bribie Island one is particularly good with pool, entertainment area and huge big bbq area, it also had mini golf!
If we dont go away at Easter if Stevie has to work the monday, we might go to Australia Zoo and see Steve Irwin!

Not much else for today bar some relaxation time! I'm still undecided about the hair thing!

The tide is high..and the beach is calling.

The easter break is coming up in two weeks time and I will have the friday, saturday, sunday and monday off which will be lovely. Stevie needs to work the saturday, but we were looking at possibly going to Bribie Island on the saturday night for two nights, returning back to Brisbane for the Monday. I'm going to Bribie on sunday after I go to the markets with my Mum and Aunty Di for the day, so we will check out if there will still be any accomodation left.
Stevie is all up for caravaning now, hes a resident caravan fiend and wants to stay in one, so Ive been checking out sites, theres two 4 star ones in Bribie, http://www.bribieislandcaravanpark.com.au/ and http://www.bongareecaravanpark.com.au/bribie_island.html and they are both pretty well priced. They are about $35 per night for a powered caravan with annex which is only about 15 pounds!
On Anzac day which is the 25th of April, a Tuesday, is a public holiday aswell, and I think we are going to go down to Pottsville for the Monday, Tuesday night returning home for Wednsday night. I just need to ask (plead) with my boss for it off~ I've done 7 hours overtime this week, and am already about $2000 over my target for the week and still have tommorow to go, so I should be in the good books! I better be!
Stevie and I got our brand spanking new medicare cards, and our private health insurance cards in the post today, all shiny and new! In the next few weeks we will need to arrange car liscences so that when Judy and Jim and the girls come over hint hint...we can drive them around! I went home the back way today and I was amazed at the beautiful houses around us at Alderley, so many massive lovely wood Queenslanders. The weather has changed in the last two weeks, this last week with the cyclone we have got a few bursts of pouring rain at night and supposedly this weekend will be very big surf, its definatly alot milder now, about 26 degrees and at night we just have the fan on, stevie even gets a lil cool with it on! I wouldnt have ever had thought Id hear that! Stevie cold in Oz.
We had a really nice dinner tonight, huge amounts of singapore noodles and stirfry with steak (for dad and stevie) and prawns together with thin noodles. We also had 12 handmade vegie spring rolls from the local store for $5 bargain!
Its really bad working across from Darrell Lea chocolate shop, the lady who works there is really loud and has a wicked laugh and everytime I walk past she shoves chocolate eggs in my mouth. Today I went in there for some chocolate coated honeycomb as we both luurrrve it and she gave me a whole heap of freebies!

We have a really busy week next week, Tuesday night we are going out to see the Bouncing Souls with all these tattoo guys, Wednsday haircut and specialist day, Thursday night we are going to a ..all you can eat seafood place on Suttons beach called Morgans, and Friday night we are going to the Everton Hotel which has karaoke with mum, dad and a whole other group and saturday night we have a party to go to, my aunty lorraine's best friend, Jenny which means probably alot of spring rolls! Yum and drunken new guinean dancing!
We'll thats about it for now! Adios xoxoxo

love these kittys.

redcliffe, sandgate and stevie with some hair and naughty desa!

In the beginning.

So, after being inspired by Judy, we've decided to set up this blog as a way of getting in touch with everyone, whilst we're on this side of the world.
Its been raining quite heavily for the last hour or so, aftermath from Cyclone Larry which wiped out alot of North Queensland. We had some of the day off together yesterday and we went into the city for a lil while before going out for Indian, Stevie made himself a lil ill by over indulging and the bus ride home was funny, especially since where we live is very hilly! He was a paler shade of white (or he liked to think so, 'am i pale, I think I'm really pale').
We watched Wolf Creek which is a horrible horrible film! Its an Australian film losely based on a guy who murders all these tourists in the middle of the outback, its very violent and I spent half the night with a pillow infront of my face and my fingers in my ears so I couldn't see/hear it! It wasn't a brainy move watching it before bedtime either, I had some freaky dreams!
Stevie had today off and went into the city to his work for a lil while and then went out to Sherwood to visit another tattoo shop called True Love Tattoos, I have an anchor from A.J one of the guys who works there.
We bought a great couch the other week from a retro shop at Sandgate (on the list of one of the places we'd maybe like to live) its 1950's and dark green and in perfect condition, It was 1x4 seater and 2x 1 seaters. It was only $200 and doesn't need any work done to it, though we are thinking of going to Atomic Bomb, a retro fabric shop and getting some material for the seat inserts.
Whilst talking about Sandgate, we've gone there, Brighton and Shorncliffe on our last day off and its really beautiful. Its this side of town, as opposed to Redcliffe which is over the bridge and adds about an extra 20-30 mins travelling time, and is by Morteon Bay. Its all old fashioned Queenlander houses and the centre of Sandgate is full of alot of colonial buildings. Its got good rail links to the city. We've been saving $300 a week, so hopefully in a years time we will have $30,000 for a good deposit for a house. My mum put on layby all this retro pink kitchenware the other week for my birthday, and dad picked up 5 antique art deco alarm clocks from a garage sale for $1 each for me, they are awesome and still work!
These are some of the houses we like:

I have a hair appoitment next Wedsnday, I'm going to quite an exclusive salon so hopefully that may mean they can cut hair well, I'm thinking of going for a radical change, ie. possibly short! Stevie is trying to talk me out of it, but my hair is annoying me and in bad condition from brushing it whilst wet constantly, I want it still long enough to tie back, even if that means a teeeny weeeny ponytail. Pictures may follow shortly if I'm brave.
